What to take on this route
Plenty of water, food, warm clothes, a rain jacket, a hat and sun cream, hiking boots and a charged phone. Check the weather and tell someone your route. The route climbs to 2338 m and it gets chilly up there: take a sweatshirt too. And if you want to wear La Palma, our island T-shirts.

- EssentialSun protectionPut on sun cream before you set off and reapply every two hours.
Before you go
- A route involving a considerable height difference, mostly through very solitary pine forests. Strenuous.
- After heavy rain, take care on the steepest sections and below cliffs: there may be damage to the trail.
- By road, with a private vehicle.
- All year round.
- A very similar route to the PR LP 11, both of which actually coincide between Roque de los Muchachos and Llano de las Ánimas, at which point they separate. If not wishing to walk the entire route, hikes combining different paths are possible, especially when starting from Tijarafe. In the Comments for the PR LP 10 path, a few ideas are given.
