What to take on this route
Plenty of water, food, warm clothes, a rain jacket, a hat and sun cream, hiking boots and a charged phone. Check the weather and tell someone your route. The route climbs to 1857 m and it gets chilly up there: take a sweatshirt too. And if you want to wear La Palma, our island T-shirts.

Before you go
- The steepness of the path is the main difficulty or inconvenience of this route.
- After heavy rain, take care on the steepest sections and below cliffs: there may be damage to the trail.
- All year round.
- This path is an alternative to the PR LP 12 for descending to Tinizara rather than Tijarafe. So defined, the route would begin at Roque de los Muchachos, from where it takes approximately two hours to reach the start of the path (in a downhill direction; 2h 30min uphill), implying the use of a private vehicle or taxi at both departure and arrival points of the hike. The path also lends itself to different combinations with others in the Network. In the Comments for the PR LP 10 path, a number of alternatives are described.
