Plenty of water, food, warm clothes, a rain jacket, a hat and sun cream, hiking boots and a charged phone. Check the weather and tell someone your route. The route climbs to 795 m and it gets chilly up there: take a sweatshirt too. And if you want to wear La Palma, our island T-shirts.
None worthy of mention. Avoid the hike with large amounts of water flowing down the ravine. Circular footpath.
After heavy rain, take care on the steepest sections and below cliffs: there may be damage to the trail.
Any time of year, but avoid periods of heavy rain.
The route has two parts. One of them is a circuit in the most attractive, interesting zone: the laurel forest of Cubo de La Galga. The other part provides a connection to the main road (bus-stop), Montaña de La Galga (a splendid viewpoint) or the GR 130 (option of continuing towards Puntallana or Los Sauces). The PR LP 5 can also be descended to reach the housing at El Pósito, on the main road.
